How to Dress a Candle With Conjure Oil

Dressing a candle is the most common way a conjure oil is put to work. It is simple enough to learn in one sitting and precise enough to reward care.
Step one: name the outcome
Write the outcome on paper in plain language, present tense, and as narrowly as you honestly can. 'The manager returns my call this week' beats 'good luck with work'.
Step two: dress the candle in the right direction
Put a few drops of oil on your fingers and draw it along the wax in one direction only.
- Drawing something toward you: wick to base
- Sending something away: base to wick
- Never coat the wick itself — it will smoke and sputter
Step three: speak, light, and let it burn
Say the petition aloud as you light the candle. Let it burn where it can be watched, on a heat-safe surface, away from anything that can catch. Never leave a lit candle unattended.
Read the burn if you like — clean and steady, or restless and smoky — but don't build a whole story out of it. Take the note, then act practically on the thing you asked for.
Common mistakes
Vague wording, too much oil, dressing the wick, and re-doing the same working every night out of anxiety. Do it well once, then let it work.
